Loubs is about relaxing, food, wine + having a good time. Loubs is a modern and elegantly furnished 16th century presbyter with magnificent views, situated just at the edge of Loubes-Bernac, a little village of about 400 inhabitants.
Over several centuries, our house was the home of monks and priests who played an important role in the community. Music was taught in the presbyter and the barn was used as a theatre. Locals still remember quite vividly the good times they had there.
Since we purchased the Presbyter we have upgraded it to a modern, elegant house. The very large rooms with the 3,8 m high ceilings give a sense of space that not every holiday home can offer.
The pool sits right in front of the house, and together with the covered outside dining area, becomes the heart of the house very much during summertime. From the terrace, you can enjoy marvellous views and admire the splendour of the recently renovated Chateau de Theobon.
The kitchen is a chef’s dream. Starting with sharp knifes you will find a Kitchen Aid Mixer, Food processor and a cold cut (only!) slicing machine (to be handled with upmost caution!), just to say a few. The larder is full of essentials and coffee capsules as well as a selection of teas await you for the morning brew. Further we welcome you with a bottle of wine, jam and a fresh baguette. If you let us know in advance we can also provide milk, oranges or juices or whatever you tell us to get …
You have the exclusive use of the house, sleeping 6 in great comfort, the pool and outside entertaining area and should you want to escape the silence, there is plenty to be discovered nearby…
A word class golf course is only a 10-minute drive away, as are most the other sport activities. Vine, dine and get marry at the various markets, “brocantes”, festivals. Make a daytrip travelling along the Dordogne passing Lalinde and Trémolat, then continue along the picturesque Vallee de la Vézère and visit Les Eyzies de Tayac, followed by Sarlat-la-Canéde, Much closer you will find the quaint villages of Eymet, Issigeac, Castillonenès and towns such as Bergerac and Sainte-Foy-La-Grande (magnificent Saturday market) or Marmande the tomato capital of France where you should not miss the Notre Dame Church and its cloister. Or why not drive to the Atlantic and visit Arcachon and the tallest dune Europe’s in Pyla.
